Well it feels very good to get this done!!!! I knew that January would be very busy for me so I started this 1st thing after Christmas and have worked on it in my spare time. I really had to step out of my comfort zone with this design. I had a whole different quilt in mind till I got my partners preferences.
All appliqué are made of wool and machine appliquéd.
The quilting is quite primitive. All quilting is done with pearl cotton, so needless to say all the knots are showing on the wrong side. Sorry partner but that's part of the charm.
I had to add the promise of spring with this cardinal. I watch the Cardinals feed outside my kitchen window in the summer.
Close up of the 2 appliqué styles.
Here in Oklahoma we have been enjoying wounderful temps. in the 50's to 60's. Well tonight a cold front is cmming in and we should get snow.

What a wonderful little quilt! I love the whimsicalness of the snowman!
Oh mom! How wonderful.
Thanks I'm glad you like it.
Oh wow - it's beautiful! I wish I was your partner! We don't get much snow around here... great job! I've really got to get to work! Em
I like very much your sweet little quilt. Here we don´t have any snow, just wind, rain and grey sky, boring! I am sure your recipient will love the quilt. Take care.
Oh! That is such a cute quilt! I started a snowman quilt a few years ago...maybe I'll finish it! There is plenty of snow here in Utah....you can have some if you want it~

Jeanne I just love your quilt, especially the use of 1930's fabrics. The wool so suits the snowman and I love the little cardinal.
It's just magical
I have to say that your quilt is my favorite. I do like the one I got, but I love this quilt, maybe because you made it. :o) I can't wait to see the apron you make.
very nice quilt! and as for the cardinal, I love to watch them outside my kitchen window in the winter time. I have a suet block they come to all the time. They are very pretty with the red in the trees against the white snow.
